CPSC Recalls Voltage Tester Due to Safety Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently recalled the Fluke VoltAlert® Voltage Detector due to safety concerns. The voltage detector can malfunction, failing to indicate live voltage. This poses a risk of injury or death due to electrical shock or thermal burns.

The testers were distributed nationwide from September 2009 through February 2010 and cost about $25. Consumers should stop using the voltage tester immediately and contact Fluke for a free replacement.
